Star-studded benefit concerts FireAid took over LA’s Intuit Dome and Kia Forum last night for marathon events that raised money for Los Angeles wildfire relief. One of the highlights of the evening was when members of Nirvana reunited, with Kim Gordon, St. Vincent, Joan Jett, and Violet Grohl each joining them on vocals for a song, and a lot of other stuff happened too. Green Day, who performed early in the night at Kia Forum, did “Still Breathing” and “When I Come Around,” and were joined by Billie Eilish for 21st Century Breakdown track “Last Night on Earth.”

Billie also did her own set with her brother and collaborator FINNEAS at Intuit Dome later in the evening, featuring acoustic versions of three Hit Me Hard and Soft songs “Wildflower,” “The Greatest,” and “Birds of a Feather.”

Anderson .Paak had Sheila E. join him for “Put Me Thru” and “Come Down,” and then invited out Dr. Dre for “Still D.R.E.” and “California Love.” “I want to say this is a magical moment for me,” Dre said. “I got so much love for you guys and this summer will be the mark of 40 years that I’ve been in this business. And I appreciate all the love that you guys have been giving me, and the reason that we’re here, I appreciate all the first responders and firemen that put their lives on the line and I appreciate all that love. It’s all about love for me to night. But guess what else I got?”

Dawes, whose Taylor and Griff Goldsmith were both impacted by the fires, played their song “Time Spent in Los Angeles” (which they also performed on Jimmy Kimmel Live earlier this month), and then brought out Stephen Stills and the Heartbreakers’ Mike Campbell for rendition of Buffalo Springfield’s “For What It’s Worth.” Graham Nash then joined them as well, saying “Whenever the city of Los Angeles gets into trouble, the musicians are right there,” which lead into a group rendition of Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young’s “Teach Your Children.”

The Black Crowes also had a couple of guests on hand: they brought out John Fogerty for his old band Creedence Clearwater Revival’s “Have You Ever Seen the Rain?,” and Slash for Led Zeppelin’s “Going to California.”

P!nk also did a Zeppelin cover, of their version of “Babe, I’m Gonna Leave You.”

Gracie Abrams had The National‘s Aaron Dessner join her for her two-song set at Intuit Dome – her own “I Love You, I’m Sorry,” and Counting Crows’ “A Long December.”

The initial FireAid lineup announcement had Gwen Stefani, but she wound up bringing her No Doubt bandmates with her for their first set since Coachella 2024. They played a trio of hits, “Don’t Speak,” “Spiderwebs,” and “I’m Just a Girl,” and Gwen switched up the lyrics to the latter a bit, singing “I’m just a girl…in LA!”

After starting his set with “I Am Not Okay,” Jelly Roll invited out blink-182‘s Travis Barker, saying, “I think it’s important while I’m on this stage to sing a song about one of my favorite cities in America, but I can’t do that without someone from Los Angeles. I would like to bring my big brother Travis Barker out to play tonight.” They did a rendition of Bob Seger & the Silver Bullet Band’s “Hollywood Nights.”

Stevie Nicks dedicated her performance of Fleetwood Mac’s classic “Landslide” to the firefighters who saved her Pacific Palisades home, saying, “Knowing that I was a full-on Pacific Palisadean woman with an old, beautiful, famous house that was almost taken from me as the fire came up the hill behind my house. And I was pretty sure, as they whisked me away and evacuated me — my least favorite word now — to another safe place, that when I turned around and looked my house would be up in flames.” Her house “stands strong,” she added, “just like her mom. And in my opinion, she saved that whole street.” She also performed “Stand Back” and “Edge of Seventeen.”

Stevie Wonder opened his three-song set with Songs in The Key of Life‘s “Love’s in Need of Love Today,” and then had Sting and Flea join him on “Superstition” and “Higher Ground.”

Joni Mitchell performed her classic “Both Sides Now,” with Blake Mills joining her on guitar.

Lady Gaga ended the night at Intuit Dome, performing a new song that she wrote with her fiancé, Michael Polansky. “When I was thinking about what to sing tonight, I thought I wanted to do something hopeful for you,” she said. “And I was thinking about my songs, and there wasn’t anything that seemed quite right. So, me and my friend Michael — my fiancé, my love — we wrote this song for you. It’s just for tonight. It’s just for you. I think we all need a lot of things right now, but I think something we may also need is time. Time is a healer.” She also played A Star Is Born hit “Shallow,” and “Always Remember Us This Way.”

FireAid also featured performances from Olivia Rodrigo, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Earth Wind & Fire, Lil Baby, Peso Pluma, Alanis Morissette, and more. They are still taking donations for those impacted by the wildfires, and you can stream the whole show below.
